What Is a Brazilian Buttock Lift?

A Brazilian Buttock Lift augments the size and shape of the buttocks, making them higher and rounder. This procedure is especially gratifying for patients frustrated with drooping backside due to weight loss, aging, or just a natural lack of volume and skin firmness.

Liposuction is used to remove excess fat from the hips, abdomen, flanks, or thighs. A portion of this fat is then purified and strategically injected into the buttocks, resulting in a more aesthetically pleasing shape.

What Can I Expect During the Procedure?

The Brazilian Buttock Lift can be performed as an outpatient at a fully accredited surgical facility. An incision is made on the area of the body where the fat will be removed. A cannula with a suction attached is inserted carefully to remove the appropriate amount of fat. The fat is then processed, resulting in a very smooth texture. This is then re-injected into the buttocks using a small cannula. Small dissolving sutures are used to close the incisions.

How Long Is the BBL Recovery?

You must sit very cautiously for the first few weeks. Avoiding pressure on the buttocks for two weeks is recommended. There will be bruising, swelling, and soreness in the buttocks and the area(s) where the fat was removed. Swelling may take up to six months to fully resolve. You will wear a compression garment that will help keep swelling to a minimum. Exercise and strenuous activities should be avoided for four to six weeks.
